Dedicated to the memory of Bern Gilley
This site is a tribute to our beloved Husband and Dad, Bern, who passed away recently after bravely battling Mesothelioma for the past 6 months.
Bern was such an incredibly devoted husband, father, grandad and brother. Always so kind and caring to his family, friends and everyone he met so it's not surprising that one of his final wishes was to make sure that we give back to the wonderful St Francis Hospice who cared for him so lovingly in his final weeks. Not only did they take such good care of Bern but the Hospice also provided support and family advice throughout his stay and treated him with the dignity and respect that he so thoroughly deserved.
As an expression of sympathy instead of flowers, the family would welcome donations to St Francis Hospice as they are a charity who rely heavily on the kindness of others. These donations help them to keep their doors open and services running so anything you can spare would be hugely appreciated.
Bern will always be remembered and close in our hearts.
A family member from Ireland captured it beautifully sharing this saying with us; "Ni bheidh a leithead aris ann" ;
"we shall not see his like again"
